The journey from Chengdu takes about 8 hours by car, and while scenically pleasing, flying is often preferred. Jiuzhaigou Airport facilitates direct flights to various major cities in China.

Current Updates for Travelers

As of recent, Jiuzhaigou allows direct access to independent travelers without the need of a travel agency, along with an increased visitor cap. Pre-booking tickets online is necessary, as on-site purchase is unavailable. The open areas for exploration include Zharu Valley & Temple, parts of Shuzheng Valley, and portions of Rizegou and Zhacha Valley.
