Exciting news for travelers: From December 1st, 2023, certain European and Malaysian visitors can relish a 15-day visa-free entry to China, broadening horizons for tourism, business, or family visits.

Major update: As of August 30, China abolishes all entry COVID-19 testing, reinstating the pre-pandemic entry process.

Welcoming news for Singaporean and Bruneian citizens – since July 26, enjoy a 15-day visa-free travel to China for a variety of purposes.

For those holding a valid Chinese visa issued before March 28, 2020, you're all set to enter China without reapplying.

The full spectrum of visa services, including L visas for tourists, has resumed. For any private tour arrangements or cancellations with a full refund up to three weeks pre-departure, feel free to reach out to our team.

From April 1, no more pre-flight COVID-19 tests are required for travelers headed to Hong Kong.

8 Methods of Entry into China Now Open!

Now that visa services are fully operational, numerous entry methods are available to travelers.

1. Visa Policy

You may enter using your current valid Chinese visa. New applicants can now request different visa types, including tourist and business visas, with simple self-application procedures.

To apply for a tourist visa, you'll need either an invitation from a Chinese entity or your round-trip plane tickets and hotel bookings. Simplified self-application procedures are now available for a hassle-free experience.

2. 144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel to select areas including Shanghai and Beijing regions without applying for a Chinese visa, availing 6-day visa-free transit.

3. Port Visa (Landing Visa)

Port visas, suitable for urgent or impromptu travels, cater to groups of two or more, granting 1 to 2 months’ stay post-entry within 15 days.

Note: American tourists are not eligible for port visas in Shanghai.

4. ASEAN Tour Groups Visa Waiver for Guilin

ASEAN tour groups can delight in a 144-hour visa-free stay in Guilin, given they match transit policy prerequisites.

5. Shanghai Visa-Free Policy for Cruise Groups

Cruise to Shanghai and enjoy a 15-day visa-free stay with your tourist group, provided all travel is via the same cruise under a Chinese tour agent’s patronage.

6. Hainan Visa-Free Access

59 countries’ travelers can experience a maximum 30-day visa-free visit to Hainan Island, through a recognized tour agency.

7. Pearl River Delta Visa-Free Travel

Access Guangzhou and Shenzhen visa-free when traveling within a tour from Hong Kong or Macau.

8. APEC Business Travel Card

Holders can enter China sans visa, enjoying up to 60 days of stay.

No More PCR Tests Required for Entry into China

All travelers are exempted from COVID-19 testing for entry into China starting August 30, relieving the need for pre-departure tests.

Hong Kong Entry Conditions

Entry COVID-19 tests have been eliminated for Hong Kong-bound travelers from April 1, easing access to the Mainland. Direct high-speed trains and anticipated ferry services facilitate visits to the Canton Fair.

Macau Entry Conditions

Macau has similarly waived pre-flight COVID-19 tests from August 30, with unrestricted Mainland travel.

Current International Flight Trends to China

A marked weekly increase in inbound and outbound flights saw a significant jump in early March. Direct and connecting flights, including from New York to Shanghai and London to Guangzhou, are now operational without transit testing.

Travel Expectations within China

With COVID-19 measures lifted, China reverts to its pre-pandemic state. Attractions are operating as usual, and masks are optional, except in crowded zones like airports or subways.
